First of all, congratulations on your engagement! 💍
This is an exciting chapter in your life, and as you begin planning your wedding, there are so many decisions to make—from finding the perfect venue to selecting your floral arrangements. One of the most important pieces of the puzzle? The food! Great catering can turn your wedding into an unforgettable experience for your guests, and Indulge is here to help you make it happen.
Here are some key tips to guide you through the process:
1. Start Early and Lock in Your Caterer
Good caterers book up fast, especially for popular wedding seasons. We are asked all the time how soon to book catering - the answer is always as soon as possible! As soon as you have your date and venue locked down, reach out to us to start the process. Early planning gives you more options and allows us to work closely with you to customize your menu to match your vision and budget.
2. Know Your Budget
Wedding catering can take up a significant portion of your budget, so it’s essential to have a clear idea of what you want to spend. Being upfront about your budget is helpful as we can help you create a menu that fits your vision without breaking the bank. Pro tip: Don’t forget to factor in landmark fees (this is a venue fee), rentals, and additional service fees.
3. Consider Your Guest List
Before finalizing your menu, take a close look at your guest list. Are there dietary restrictions or preferences you need to consider? With Indulge's menus we provide a complimentary vegan/vegetarian meal at no additional cost - the goal is for all your guests to feel included! Our Red Thai Curry is one of Indulge's most popular dishes! Plus, creative alternatives can make your menu stand out!
"Indulge's ability to accommodate dietary needs, allergies and restrictions is second to none. So many of our guests commented on how great the food and service was."
4. Choose a Style That Matches Your Vibe
Your catering style should reflect the atmosphere of your wedding. A formal plated dinner works beautifully for couples who want to have speeches or presentations during the meal. Buffets are also a great option for couples who would like to provide more choice for their guests - be sure to also think about your seating chart and if there is room for a buffet in your venue! For a more casual and interactive experience or a grazing table or Indulge's Social Grazing Charcuterie Cart is a great option - not to mention unique!
Not sure what fits your vibe? We are happy to work through this with you!
5. Book a Tasting
Indulge is a firm believer in 'Try Before You Buy!' We work with our clients to determine a menu and budget that work, and then invite you to our kitchen for a tasting! Once you are happy with your estimate and menu selections we then start the booking process.
6. Don’t Forget the Drinks
Whether it’s a signature cocktail, wine pairings, or a fully stocked bar, beverages are a big part of the dining experience. Indulge offers many bar options from all inclusive, host, cash and even non alcoholic bars! Cocktails and mocktails during cocktail hour are a wonderful way to start the reception - not to mention they look great in your pictures!
7. Think Beyond Dinner
Your guests will remember more than just the main meal. Consider fun additions like a late-night snack station, a dessert bar, or a brunch buffet the morning after the wedding. These extras add a wow factor and keep your guests raving about your wedding.
8. Trust the Professionals
Planning a wedding is overwhelming, but Indulge is here to make the process easier. We've seen it all (we've catered for over 17 years!) and can guide you through decisions big and small. Don’t be afraid to lean on our expertise and ask plenty of questions along the way!
